What a restaurant website needs to actually fill tables

Most restaurant websites are built to look good on the owner’s desktop. But the people visiting arrive hungry, on a phone, with a decision to make in under a minute. Shifting to that point of view usually matters more than the design itself.

The menu, as text and one tap away

A PDF you have to pinch to zoom is the most repeated mistake. The menu should load fast, read without zooming and be editable without calling anyone. It also lets Google read your dishes and show them to people searching for them.

Booking or ordering without friction

The reservation button has to be visible in the first scroll, not buried in the menu. If you work with delivery, the link to the platform belongs at the top, never in the footer.

Real photos, and few of them

Six good photos of your own dishes work better than thirty stock images. Generic pictures create doubt; real ones create appetite and trust.

The details people actually look for

Up-to-date opening hours, an address linked to maps, a tappable phone number, and whether there is a terrace, parking or gluten-free options. These are the most searched questions and the most often forgotten.
