How much does professional branding cost (and what drives the price)
It is the first question almost everyone asks, and the hardest one to answer with a single number. Branding is not a catalogue product: the price depends on how much there is to solve, not on how many files get delivered. What can be explained is what pushes that budget up or down, so you know what you are buying before you ask for a quote.
Scope matters more than the size of the business
A neighbourhood bar with five touchpoints can need less work than an online shop with a catalogue, packaging and campaigns. Before talking money, list where the brand will show up: the space, the website, packaging, social, uniforms, signage. That list sets the budget, not your revenue.
Strategy and design are paid for separately
Researching the market, defining positioning and deciding the tone are hours you never see in the logo, but they are the ones that stop you redoing everything six months later. If a quote only covers visual design, you are probably paying for execution without direction.
Cheap usually means paying twice
A template logo solves the short term and creates a medium-term problem: no system, no rules, and every new piece improvised. The real cost shows up when packaging has to be reprinted or a whole website rebuilt to make it fit.
What you should get, whatever the price
At minimum: a logo with its variants, a colour palette, typefaces, usage rules and editable source files. Without a guide, however short, the identity drifts the moment someone else touches it.
